Description This time Copeland has paired incredible Italian red wine casks with their Merchants’ Quay blended whiskey. Finished for exactly 8 months in Barolo casks, the result is a fabulous limited edition whiskey, bottled at 46% ABV. Using only one grape variety called Nebbiolo, Barolo is sometimes known as ‘The king of Wines’. Barolo wines tend to age for longer and this all makes for a special cask when wine producers have finished with it. On the nose this whiskey is sweet, spicey and fruity – punchy lime marmalade, elderflower and candy apple with hints of cedar and Turkish delight. On the pallet it is dry but highly bodied and well-rounded with plenty of floral, citrus and sweet elements, with a warming finish of dried dark fruits.
