92 Points; Huon Hooke; The Real Review Based in Epernay, the fruit for Champagne Comte de Lamotte is sourced from Vallée de la Marne located on the riverbanks of the Marne and best known for housing a couple of famous Grands Crus villages of Ay and Tours-sur-Marne. It uses all three classic varieties and unashamedly dry.  Mid brassy yellow colour with a nutty/nougat bouquet, pinoty and rich throughout, the palate full and round, very dry and quite firm at the close, with almost a touch of austerity, which makes for a very appetising and food friendly wine. It's outstanding value for money. Drink: 2023 to 2028;
